Let me get this straight… Detroit is offered $288 million to renovate Cobo Center and it is shot down 5-3 by the City Council? Why? Because Council President Monica doesn’t think Detroiters get enough preferential treatment for jobs in the plan?
Wow. talk about delusional. A better deal will not come along and the Auto Show [...] Read more »

The recent mortgage crisis has people blaming greedy homeowners for borrowing more than the value of their homes or the banks for handing out loans like they were chewing gum.
There has been stupid decisions made by owners and lenders but the difficult thing is to figure out which bad loans are due to poor decisions and [...] Read more »

Here in Michigan, we’ve known for a long time what it’s like to live under a government that puts itself above the people.  No matter how much they collect in taxes and/or from whom, the State remains always in the red … demanding more.
On the “conservative” side, there’s a lot of talk about getting back [...] Read more »

Liberal politicians know what is best for us… just ask them. The latest is Gov. Jennifer Granholm wanting to double the federal tax on roll-your-own tobacco, which would raise the cost of a pound loose tobacco to $70. Currently, it’s about $20.

Osgood has been a dependable, if [...] Read more »

I rarely agree with Detroit Free Press columnist Rochelle Riley when it comes to political views but I often agree with her when it comes to helping the city.
She loves Detroit and so do I. I grew up in the city and only moved when my job took me to the suburbs. She has roots [...] Read more »

(Michigan J. Blogger note: This post doesn’t directly relate to Michigan but it involves Nancy Pelosi, a politician I believe is pretty useless. I am also not a Catholic.)
Speaker of The House Nancy Pelosi (D) would be downright hilarious if she wasn’t so powerful and therefore dangerous because of her ignorance. Pelosi, a Catholic, often [...] Read more »
