I usually don't like accusing the police of wrongdoing when they shoot a suspect to death.
They have a difficult job. Their lives are on the line every day and never know when some dirt bag is going to try to kill them. So, when I hear about a police shooting that takes a life, I give the police the benefit of the doubt until I hear all the details.
Yesterday, I read that imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah was shot 21 times by Federal Authorities when they went to arrest him. The FBI claimed Abdullah was a radical Muslim who was dealing with stolen goods.
There is a protest planned by the Detroit Coalition Against police Brutality. The FBI is saying Abdullah opened fire first and agents acted accordingly.
This whole thing is going to break down into pro-Muslim groups and anti-Muslim groups.
My gut tells me if you have several FBI agents coming to arrest you, then you should expect to be shot if you fire at them first. But, when i think about the situation, I question why 21 bullets were fired into Abdullah.
What I hope doesn't happen is the government succumbs to political correctness and refuses to report on Abdullah's actions if he was truly involved with illegal activities or even terrorism.
I have a bad feeling this situation will become a large mess before it is over.

It does seem the main-stream media is moving the story in the direction of making this an anti-Muslim story. As I understand it, Federal agents had a warrant to arrest Abdullah on weapons violations and trafficking in stolen goods.
There’s also that little bit about him wanting to establish an Islamist state separate from but within the US by whatever means necessary. Oh, and his profession to kill as many law enforcement people as he could.
How many agents do you suppose were involved in the raid on the warehouse in Dearborn? I’d guess at least a dozen. If that’s about right, it means less than 2 shots fired per agent. If a suspect, known to be anti-police, opened fire during an attempted arrest, don’t you think anyone with a clear shot would take it?
Under normal circumstances, 21 shots would be too many. But this was not a normal circumstance. And Abdullah’s religious beliefs had nothing to do with why Federal agents raided the warehouse in Dearborn. It was his weapon and property crimes that yielded the arrest warrant.
