ATTN: Michigan Bloggers!

R.S. McCain runs a couple of excellent blogs, The Other McCain and Not Tucker Carlson. He's also the author of "How to Get a Million Hits on Your Blog in Less Than a Year." Why am I telling you this?

Because I'd like to see Michigan's "Right-o-Sphere" take his advice, grow our blogs, and become a more prominent voice in Michigan politics! Make sense to you?

Please see McCain's post for full details, but let me give you a brief rundown.

Shameless Blogwhoring. Find the biggest Michigan bloggers and fill their inboxes with blogwhoring emails, and suck-up sideways and downwards too!
The Full Metal Jacket Reach-Around. Reciprocal linkage (linky-love) "is the essential lubricant that makes the blogosphere purr with contentment." If someone links to you and/or throws traffic your way, give them a link back update, or keep them in mind for future linkage, "because you don't want to end up on the wrong end of a kharmic unbalance in the 'sphere, where you're always taking and never giving."
Memeorandum. The easiest place to find blog fodder. In our case, I recommend MichNews, RightMichigan, or milve. All of these (btw), can conviently be found on our Michigan News Ticker. You can find out what other Michigan bloggers are writing about via our Michigan Blog Ticker too!
Make Some Enemies. As McCain says, "We'll have none of your "bipartian civility" around here, you sissy weaklings. This here is the Intertoobs, and we're As Nasty As We Wanna Be. The fact that The Moderate Voice has turned into a reliable vessel for DNC talking points should tell you all you need to know about the fate of bipartisanship in the blogosphere ... At the same time, however, don't confuse cyber-venom with real-world hate ... at some point you understand it's just blogging about politics ... "
Everybody Loves a Pretty Girl! All politics all the time can get boring. As McCain notes, "The occasional joke, the occasional hot babe, the occasional joke about a hot babe -- it's a safety valve to make sure we don't become humorless right-wing clones of those Democratic Underground moonbats." And it's not just guys who who appreciate a few pictures of hotties, chicks enjoy looking at pretty girls too (see Cosmo or Glamour for example)!
