With Thanksgiving just five days away, I am going to write about ten things I am grateful for. Each day I will post one personal and one Michigan-related thing that has me thankful.

Personal:

God. Call it simplistic. Call it odd. Call it great. Call it whatever you want, but I call being thankful to God part of my duty to my Lord. I have made it no secret I am a Christian and I love Jesus. This post is not meant to "convert" anyone. It is meant to show my thanks to God. He created me. Compared to the universe, I am insignificant. I am not equal to one grain of sand in the desert. But, in God's eye I am a giant. Whether you believe it or not, God loves each and everyone of us.

I am thankful for all of God's gifts and talents he gave me. I am thankful I have a roof over my head, a car to drive, family, friends, food, clean water, and that I live in the greatest country on Earth. I owe that all to Jesus.

Michigan:

I am thankful for the Great Lakes. I love the water. I love how it sounds as the waves slosh on the shore. I love the choppy waves. I love the smell of it. I love everything about the Great Lakes.

The Great Lakes make Michigan unique. They provide outdoor enthusiasts a great place to swim, fish, boat, water ski, and so much more. Look at a map of the United States and you can always pick out the Great Lakes because they form the outline for the Michigan mitten.

Until next time, enjoy Michigan and remember what makes you thankful.
