The Freedom From Religion Foundation is enacting its annual attack on Christmas with billboards and bus signs that spew their, "there is no God" nonsense.

One of these gems has a picture of Santa saying, "Yes, Virginia, there is no God."

I'd be more upset if I didn't pity these people.

I know atheists are a loud minority that try to pretend the Founding Fathers wanted a separation of church and state but that is not true. (There are thousands of examples the United States government promoting religion. Thomas Jefferson wrote to several Indian tribes telling them it was Congress' duty to teach and promote Christianity to the native people.)

Because of this recent promotion of the idea of a separation of church and state, these atheists feel the need to attack Christmas. They do it to the point to even pretend we are really celebrating the Winter Solstice instead of Christmas.

I expect the hatred of Jesus because that has become common in this country, but where is the hatred of Allah? I don't see any billboards saying, "Yes, Muhammad, there is No Allah."

I wonder why...hmmmm... I imagine it is for one of two reasons: They are afraid to upset Muslims and fear some sort of retaliation, or their real goal is to eliminate Christianity from this country.

I suspect it is a little of both. I tried calling the organization to ask why Christianity seems to be the only religion they want freedom from. Take a look at their Web site and see how many times they take a jab at Christianity (many) and how many times they downplay Islam (none).

A member of the Freedom From Religion group was on "The O'Reilly Factor" said you can't prove the existence of the Bible, but she failed to say the same about the God of the Koran. I think she's too afraid to make that statement.

I have no problem with an organization expressing its views even though I don't agree with those views. I would like to see a group like Freedom From Religion have the guts to stand up for its beliefs in all cases. They might say when they refer to there being no God, they are referring to ALL religions ideas of who God is, but they are too scared to point out other Gods than the one in Christianity.

I wish they had the courage to stick to their beliefs and engage in debate with all religions.
