Now, Gov. Jennifer Granholm wants to replace the 19-cent a gallon tax with a percentage tax on the amount you spend at the pump. Once again proving the Gov. only cares about soaking more money from people who can't afford it. And they can't afford in part because of her failed leadership that has cost the state jobs and billions of dollars.
All we hear from liberals like Granholm is, "GLOBAL WARMING...USE LESS FOSSIL FUELS...WE'RE DESTROYING OUR GOD MOTHER EARTH...THE SKY IS FALLING!"
When we use less gas by driving less and buying more fuel-efficient cars, the whine because we are paying less in gas taxes. To remedy that, they propose to soak us for more taxes on the gas we are using.
The Gov. said we'll pay less when gas prices fall. Could she even pretend to have a clue? First, with gas prices about $2 a gallon, the current tax is 10%. There is no way Granholm and her tax-sniffing hounds will make the tax lower than 10%. She did not announce a percentage she wants to charge but some experts have said it will be about 18%. So, at $2 bucks a gallon, we'll go from paying 19 cents to 36 cents. At $4, we'll go from 19 cents a gallon to 72 cents.
So as gas prices rise and people can afford it the least, Granholm will be stealing even more money from our pockets. But, IFgas prices go down we'll save money. (Just wait. Those gas prices will be under a buck soon enough. Right)
We might be able to afford the tax increase if Granholm would bring a job or two into the state..
The rant out of Lansing is we need this tax because our roads are so bad. True, but how about making the people who do the most damage pay for them? You know, trucks.
There has also been talk of raising registration rates. Go figure, Gov. Tax-A-Lot wants even more of our money. I'm convinced Granholm wants us to send every cent we earn to her and she'll return what she doesn't use. That would be about 3 cents on the dollar.
This is ridiculous. When is her term over? It can't be fast enough.
Oh, wait. I almost forgot. She said she wasn't going to raise more taxes. Wow, a politician fibbed. I am shocked. What's next? Brangelina is going to adopt another baby.
ENOUGH! STOP TAKING OUR MONEY WHILE YOU CONTINUE TO RUN THIS STATE INTO THE GROUND-GRANHOLM.
The sad part is, the taxes will keep coming.
