Last week, Gov. Jennifer Granholm gave her final State of the State speech and I missed it.
I was busy and couldn't find the time to find a transcript - until now. I just read it and it gave me headache. I can't believe the nonsense that woman spews.
She started by going on and on about how great Lt. Gov. John Cherry is and all the great work he has done for the state. He is part of the miserable failure that is the Granholm administration.
Granholm went on to talk about all the groundwork her administration laid for future economic success blah...blah...blah.
Honestly, I know I should care more about the speech but I don't. It is the usual Granholm speech. She can't say she has done much of anything good for this state because we are bleeding jobs, taxes keep going up, and she has done nothing to help. So, she talks about how all her work will pay off in the future.
Whatever. Granholm is among the worst governor's in history.
The one thing I found funny/sad was when she said her administration changed the education system. The Michigan education system is a mess. Kids are dropping out or not graduating at all-time high rates, the schools don't teach much (other than Liberal ideas and test taking), and the school districts spend too much money for too little results.
Mmmm...Granholm was right. Her fingerprints are all over education.
She also dropped these gems:
- We have to pass a balanced budget — with urgency — one that helps us create jobs.
- We have to reform government to make it work better and cost less so that we can focus on our priorities: jobs and education.
- And we have to take the next steps to bring jobs to Michigan and grow them right here.
First, balanced budget and trying to create job. Why should she start now?
Government reform. Same old, same old out of her mouth.
Bring jobs to Michigan and grow them. I've been begging for her to do this for years, but her inability to lower taxes on businesses destroyed too many jobs.
The only thing I liked about Gov. Jennifer Granholm's final State of the State address was it will be her last one.
