I recently paid a visit to Lexington, Michigan and I made a critical mistakes as a blogger.
I didn't bring a camera.
Lexington is a beautiful town. It's about a 20-minute drive north of Port Huron. There is a certain charm to it. There are little shops and restaurants lining the streets.
My friends and I ate the Cadillac House. Apparently it was built in the 1860s and there is a ghost named George that "haunts" the place. The food was good, the staff was friendly and it was fun to imagine what the place was like in the 1800s.
The shopping was neat. There were stores with Michigan-themed souveniers. It was fun to walk around and just browse. I'm sure the shop owners wanted us to spend more money but everyone is on a budget these days.
What excited me most about Lexington, Michigan was the pier. It provides a great view of Lake Huron. We walked the pier at about 7 p.m. The wind was hard and cool and the waves were choppy.
There were two men on personal watercraft fighting the waves and putting a little show for the people on the pier. It was a nice, relaxing time.
Lexington has a lot of activities throughout the year. They have the Lexington Music Theatre, Music in the Park and a Port Huron to Lexington sailboat race on August 8.
I am going to try to check out some of them.
If you like the feel of small towns, check out Lexington or search out other locations in this great state.
