It's been a few weeks since my last Fan Rant due to a combination of being busy on the weekends and blackouts preventing me from watching many games.

I've been thinking a lot about the Lions the past few days. At 2-9, the season - in terms of making the playoffs - is over, but there are a lot of questions that need to be answered.

  1. Is Matthew Stafford capable of being a starting quarterback in the NFL?
  2. Who on defense is worth keeping?
  3. Which wide receivers - beyond Calvin Johnson - will be here next season?
  4. Will rookie running back Aaron Brown improve enough to force the coaching staff to feed him the ball?
  5. How can the pass rush be improved?
  6. Is running back Kevin Smith a quality starter?
  7. What is up with the offensive line?
  8. How many years does Jason Hanson have left?
  9. Just how many defensive backs can the Lions sign and play in the remaining five games?

There is much to do with this team and I will be interested in seeing what happens with the rest of the schedule. The most important thing for the Lions is to develop Stafford.

The Lions won't make the playoffs or even a winning record, but let's enjoy what is left of this season.

Until next time, enjoy Michigan and Goooo LIONS!!
