When President Obama was running for his current office, he would tell anyone that would listen he was a Christian.

That is a typical move for a politician. Most voters are Christians so they pander to that group. For the most part, the voters see through that nonsense, but some believe the hype.

And for the most part, politicians keep playing the "Christian" card. George W. Bush said he was a Christian, and I believed him. However, I doubted the maturity of his faith when he said Christians and Muslims worship the same god. Actually, Bush either got that wrong because he didn't understand the differences between the two faiths or he was trying to avoid a political mess.

Politicians are always trotting out religion to win elections. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Joe Biden keep claiming they are Catholics. However, they stumble on the abortion issue.

They both say they are personally opposed to abortion but won't take that choice from someone else. Hate to be the bearer of bad news for Pelosi and Biden, but the Catholic Church says to be a Catholic you must oppose abortion for any reason.

That may not be fair or politically correct, but it's the Church's rules. (Hey, Nancy and Joe, if you don't like the Catholic Church's rules, make up a religion like Oprah did.)

Obama was no different when he was running for president. He went to Rick Warren's church and proclaimed he had a strong Christian faith. He took the usual policial stance on religion: I am a Christian but I won't take a stand on any controversial topics because I could lose votes.

When Warren asked him when a fetus had human rights, Obama said it was "above my pay grade." Sorry, as president, nothing is above your pay grade. That was a coward's answer.

If you think a fetus has no rights, then say so. That's a better answer than, "I don't know when a fetus becomes a human so abortions should be legal."

If you don't know if a fetus is a human or not, wouldn't it better to err on the side of caution and NOT kill them?

Obama claims he is Christian but his actions prove otherwise. He proudly boasted to the Muslim world America is not a Christian nation; he freely quotes from the Koran but stays away from the Bible; he didn't take part in the National Day of Prayer; and he is for abortion for any reason at any time. Also, there are many statements from him discounting the Bible and proclaiming he is a Universalist. That's one of the Oprah religions where everyone goes to Heaven no matter what.

Obama may claim to be a serious Christian, but he is not. At every opportunity he denies the Christian faith. (By the way, I don't think he is a Muslim, either. I doubt he would take any religion seriously that wouldn't boost his political career.)

After all, this is the man who said he was attending Rev. Wright's church in Chicago for 18 years - which many say was a political move - and claimed he never heard Wright's racist sermons and attacks on white people and America. Right, and he promised unemployment wouldn't go past 8% either.

The man is like the vast majority of politicians; not afraid to lie or use a well-placed denial to keep those votes coming in.

All this leads me to another proof Obama is not a Christian and is willing to snub our service men and women to take a shot at the faith.

Over the Fourth of July Weekend, The God and Country Rally in Idaho was denied a military flyover by the Pentagon because of its "Christian Nature."

The Rally had a flyover every year for 43 years and now - no way. The only difference is the Commander in Chief. If the Obama-loving press ever had the courage to ask him about this obvious snub against Christianity and our military, Obama would say something like it cost too much (although there is a budget for the "dates" he takes his wife on) or is violates separation of church and state. (Which, by the way, is a made up concept and is NOT in the Constitution.)

Ultimately, all these little snubs on Christianity are adding up to prove Obama is not really a Christian. Anyone can claim to be one, but saying it doesn't make it true.

I can say I am a Libertarian, but if I am in favor of a strong federal government, higher taxes and fewer personal freedoms, I am not a Libertarian. (By the way, I am against all those.)

I don't care what religion Obama claims to hold. He is the president and not the theologian in chief. I just wish he'd stand up and tell the truth.

What's it going to hurt? The man could kick a puppy out a three-story window and the media wouldn't report on it. And if they did, somehow it would George Bush's fault or they would do smear job on the puppy like they did to Joe The Plumber.

When politicians claim to be Christians and it is "so very important to them" and guides their "every decision," take it with a grain of salt. And Obama is no different.
