One of my favorite Web sites is motorcitytimes.com.

I like the stories and the viewpoints. I was checking out the site today, after a weekend away from the computer and I saw an interesting item about how we are starting to refer to the Fourth of July as just a "holiday".

When I thought about it, I realized it's true. I heard some talk of the "Holiday Weekend" instead of the Fourth of July Weekend.

What the hell is going on? Do we have to be ashamed our country's birthday now? Is recognizing Independence Day some kind of slight? Should people be offended?

I can't believe how screwed up this country is becoming. Not only have we made Christmas a dirty word, now we can't be proud of the United States.

The only reason Easter hasn't been changed is because you can celebrate it, wish each other a Happy Easter and hold Easter sales because you are not reminded it is supposed to be a celebration of the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

I guarantee you if someone wanted to change the name legally to Resurrection Sunday, the Politically Correct Police would explode, despite the fact that is what started the holiday even though it has a pagan name.

I will pay more attention next year and I will not shop at a store that refuses to call it the Fourth of July.

Political correctness is out of control.
