Let me get this straight... Detroit is offered $288 million to renovate Cobo Center and it is shot down 5-3 by the City Council? Why? Because Council President Monica doesn't think Detroiters get enough preferential treatment for jobs in the plan?

Wow. talk about delusional. A better deal will not come along and the Auto Show will leave unless there is a better facility. Talk about job loss for the city. A revamped Cobo may also bring in more conventions and shows...um, Detroit City Council, that may be a good thing.

I don't know what's more disgusting, Conyers or council members Barbara-Rose Collins and Martha Reeves saying they voted no because they agree with Conyers. Um...how about coming up with an explanation of your own?

After scrapping a great plan, what did we get? Conyers rambling on how it will hurt the city and making the usual racist comments we get out of the Detroit City Council about being treated like they are on a "plantation."

When it comes to Detroit politicians not getting their way, it's always somehow connected to race. I particularly like the buzzword, "Suburbs," which means "White People."

Detroit has become so sad. You get good men like Ken Cockrel Jr. and Dave Bing running for mayor to make things better and you get the Clown School making selfish decisions and acting like whiny babies.

This is the group made up of individuals who get investigated for taking bribes, call a $90,000 a year job "part-time" to avoid media questions, resort to name calling and insults, and sing stupid songs during meetings. Didn't one of the members wear a tiara on her birthday a couple years ago? What, did she turn seven?

Also spawned from this group was Sharon McPhail who once accused former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick of trying to electrocute her by rigging her office chair and became one his biggest allies through the period he disgraced the city.

When you watch City Council meetings, you can almost hear the "Looney Toons" theme playing in the background.

Detroit will only get better when people with brains and maturity are elced to council.
